What is Vanguard?
Vanguard is a Free Company in Final Fantasy XIV. If you're unfamiliar with the idea of a "free company", it's no different than a guild in other MMOs. We're a group of players that help each other accomplish goals that would be much more difficult (if not impossible) to accomplish alone.
We play on the Behemoth (US) server cluster .
What's the play style of your guild?
Many guilds describe themselves as "hardcore" or "casual" or cater to a particular sub-culture of society. There are litmus tests you must pass to even have a chance at joining these groups.
Vanguard breaks that mold by being a mixed guild that's supportive of any individual, regardless of their goals, play-style, life situation, political or religious views, etc. We have people of every stripe and background, and we've also got a mix of very casual players, progression raiders, crafters, and everything between. As long as you're helpful and tolerant, you're welcome here. How you play the game is up to you!
Why join Vanguard?
There are good reasons to join any Free Company. You get people to socialize with. You don't have to play alone or run dungeons with strangers. You can trade resources with people that might have extras of things you need, while wanting things you have. You can get advice on strategies for your class or specific tasks you're struggling with.
But why join our Free Company, specifically?
As of this post, we have about 100 active accounts, with people constantly online. We run our own Teamspeak server, have an active event calendar, and are a welcoming bunch of people. I genuinely believe we'll enrich your game experience, and you've got nothing to lose by joining up.
How do I join?
You can apply to join right on this page. Or if you look at our forums here, you can click any of our names to send a message. Or look at our Vanguard Risen Lodestonemember roster on the main FFXIV site, sort the list by rank, and send an in-game message to anyone well up the rank tree, letting us know you'd like to join.
